Do I need to update my automatic payment details when my credit card expires?
In most instances, there is no need to update your automatic payment details when your credit card reaches its expiry date. Our systems will automatically extend your card expiry date in line with its usual validity term (generally 2 or 3 years).
Most financial institutions will continue to accept automatic payments as long as the automatically extended expiry date matches the expiry date on your new credit card.
If the validity term or card number change when a new card is issued, your automatic payments will fail. If this happens and your account balance falls below your trigger amount, we will send you a low balance alert and your e-TAG will beep multiple times to indicate you need to make a payment.
Any automatic payment failure will be highlighted in the automatic payments section of the My Account home screen, next to your account balance.
